The RUBRIC project is sponsored by the Australian Commonwealth Department of Education, Science and Training, under the Systemic Infrastructure Initiative (SII) as part of the Commonwealth Government's Backing Australia's Ability - An Innovation Action Plan for the Future (BAA).

The RUBRIC Project will deploy best practice emerging from the SII first round projects known as FRODO - (Federated Repositories of Digital Objects) and other projects funded in the second round known as MERRI Managed Environments for Research Repository Infrastructure).

MERRI Projects

The nine projects funded in the second round of SII grants are:

  • Time Sync:  Mapping the Global Financial System

  • BlueNet: The Australian Marine Science Data Network

  • MMIM: Molecular Medicine Informatics Model:  A Multi-Institutional, Multi-disciplinary Research and Training Platform for Clinical Research

  • ASK-OSS: Australian Service for Knowledge of Open Source Software

  • MAPS: Middleware Action Plan and Strategy

  • Legal Protocols for Copyright Management:  Facilitating Open Access to Research at the National and International Levels

  • DART: Dataset Acquisition, Accessibility and Annotation e-Research Technology
